FIRST OF ALL, here’s some relief for all of us:
I really thought we were gonna find out that it was a homicide. Fewf!
Anyway, welcome to another episode of Circle Back! I am writing this an hour before this is getting published because I fell asleep three times in a matter of 20 minutes and was completely disoriented each time. Did not know where I was. I think that’s how Queen Elizabeth II felt for the last 30 years of her life. Ugh, I’m seriously so relieved she wasn’t murdered. It was really nerve-wracking awaiting the news. Felt like when we would all await the results of American Idol. I know you all watched American Idol.
This week, I wanna talk about how there are so many tv shows and movies — pictures if you will — that I have to rewatch right now right at this exact moment because all of the main characters in them are in their mid-20s, and some of them are even living in New York. And here’s the thing: I am in my mid-20s, and EYE am living in New York. So now I have to rewatch so many things — Girls, Before Sunrise, The Devil Wears Prada, When Harry Met Sally, Fleabag, any movie with Greta Gerwig ever. All need to be rewatched by moi right now. So … gotta go!
I kid, I kid! I’m still here. I am never leaving. Never.
I wonder if I’ll hate the show Girls now. Will I relate to any of the characters, or will I think that they’re all horrible people? Or will I relate to them and think they’re horrible people and then realize I am a horrible people? This is actually gonna be really risky. Will I love that I relate to Greta Gerwig in Frances Ha or Mistress America, or will I also hate that? Will I feel like Sally in When Harry Met Sally? Or will I feel like Carrie Fisher in When Harry Met Sally? Or will I feel like HARRY in HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART II DURING THE 19 YEARS LATER PART? Bet you thought I was gonna say Harry from When Harry Met Sally, but I refuse to give any of you what you want.
When I was 16, I rewatched 16 Candles, and I do remember feeling like I connected to it more than when I watched it when I was 12. When I rewatched Gran Torino as a cantankerous, bigoted Korean war veteran and retired Ford factory worker, I related to it way more than when I was just a ninth grader at Trinity High School in River Forest, Illinois. So I really do think I’ll feel differently about these movies and tv shows once I rewatch them at the age I am now.
Something for everyone to know is that I watched the renowned cinematic masterpiece Hocus Pocus 2, and I don’t know what everyone’s saying: it was so cute so good so silly lots of laughs. Absolutely no Thackery Binx slander is allowed in this newsletter. BUT I’m not just mentioning this for no reason. I was anonymously sent a movie poster photo earlier today on Facebook Messenger (it was my mom she sent it) that made my heart drop. Are you all ready? I’ll send it the way I received it first:
A quick shout out to my mom for hyping me up and then shooting me down immediately. Love our convos, girl!
ARE YOU THERE, GOD? IT’S ME, DAME MAGGIE SMITH. Whoopi Goldberg, Bette Midler, KEKE PALMER, and Kathy Najimy producing? Are we trying to kill me? If this is real, there is no stopping what my conversations with everyone turn into. Exclusively Sister Act content. Can you even imagine the promotional interviews that we’ll be getting of this cast? Do you even understand how big this is? Also, KICKING THE HABIT? Excuse me? How did you think of something better than Back In The Habit? I’m not kidding, everybody. Even if this movie is terrible, no it isn’t.
Here’s the thing, yall. I am so sleepy. I have to go. So I’m going to leave you with some photos from a show I went to last night that I have never seen before in my life but I’ll tell you right now everyone should go check out the band FINOM (fka Ohmme) they are really something. And I have never lied to any of you before. I actually haven’t lied in two years. I will say that I did just lie about having never seen them before. I’ve probably seen every single show they’ve ever done. Go ahead — ask them. They will tell you it’s true.
If you can catch them on their tour, DO IT. u won’t regret it.
movie rec: Hocus Pocus 2 obviously what the fresh hell do u take me for
song rec: Sunny by Cher (thank u natalie for introducing me to this cover it truly hurts my soul that i didn’t know about it in the first place i’m such a fake cher fan

I can’t think of how to end this week’s episode! What ever will I do! Oh, wait:
Later!
